Same vicinity means that no gates or barriers stand in the way of the supervising adult's visible and physical path to the swimming child(ren).

Role of the Lifeguard
Lifeguards provide secondary supervision to guardians/parents. Guardians are ultimately and primarily responsible for the safety and well-being of their children.
Lifeguards are not babysitters.
Parents and guardians are required to enforce pool rules (it is not only the job of the lifeguard).
Lifeguards enforce PCC rules and seek to prevent potentially unsafe situations from happening. They also exist to provide lifesaving and first responder duties in the unlikely event an incident occurs. Please partner with our lifeguards in maintaining the safest environment possible.
